Hobnox Audio Teaser – Come and register for private beta

February 21st, 2008

We are about to launch a private beta of a new online audio application. Feel free to register at Hobnox. You should receive an invitation within a couple of days. We appreciate your feedback!

Please note: The registration page opens for the USA network on Februar, 28th!

What is Hobnox?

Hobnox is an online entertainment and rich media publishing platform, uniting broadcast quality web media with cutting edge community-enabling technology. We combine the best of current web entertainment with the newest technological possibilities of the internet to create new fascinating opportunities for both artists and audiences.

In plain English: Hobnox is great. It is a perfect match to my interests. That is the reason why I joined the company recently and I hope to contribute suggestive flash stuff for the next years.

What is that Sound?
The Hobnox Audio Teaser is a new approach to give you a great opportunity to create music compositings online in your browser. The underlying audio engine is based on dynamic digital signal processing to provide very complex audio compositing in Flash. The graphical user interface is based on an unlimited sized desktop to layout your choosen devices as you wish to operate.

The first application design delivers you some Roland emulations and effect floorboards to play with. Since this is a Teaser, you won't get the option to save your enviroment. However, already at this early state we'll provide you with some well-known software features as history, clipboard and auto-alignment of the devices. We have a large number of features to implement in future to give you everything to create high quality music. And the best above all - it is so much fun to play with!

I see nothing either, where is the demo?
I am in the UK, perhaps it would be best to tell us the countries where it does work.

just a big red box stating “please select a project”, but there are no buttons of any kind.

    Hi André,

Saw / heard a beautiful demo yesterday at the FITC! You really rocked the place! Can’t wait to get a hands-on with this very nice tool! Forgot to grab myself a T-shirt btw, but will spam Adobe till they really think I’m annoying… :)

I just can’t wait to try it out! Unfortunately I can’t seem to login to Hobnox (I joined in last week). Nothing happens when I hit submit on the loginpage (No feedback or anything). When I try to create a new account or change my old password I also never receive an email. I tried in several browsers (windows & mac)

If you guys can get Adobe to offer more advanced sound support then you could make a nice bit of money by developing something that will import an MP3 and then allow the user to slow down certain parts of it without impacting the pitch/key. Like this guy: http://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/overview.html

or the Amazing Slowdowner plugin for WinAmp does. I know tons of musicians who own these products. But a flash-based product would be so much better.
