Didn't care about racing games, yet ?
Download track-mania-nations. A free(!) adaption from a commercial game, which is absolute addictive to play. It sometimes reminds me playing a logic puzzle with a racing car (especially the expert tracks). You can create your own tracks and play on LAN and the internet against human opponents. I didn't care about PC-Games, particularly racing games, but this one is different. Just fast, good to control and looks nice.

marmotte present a very nice retro 2d shooter called Meteor Busters. Furthermore he invites to program flashgames on his peopleboy with a lot of restriction to make it 'retro pixel feeling'.

I think tilemap based games are now completely arrived to the flashgamedeveloper.
Here is another nice flashgame in a classic tilemap enviroment. Guide 4 little points by your mouse to the level exit. Some nice extra items are placed in the higher levels.
update:
alex uhlmann realized, that this is not a flashgame at all - its shockwave.
Of course, this had be done in flash anyway. Wonder why not ?

Heli Attack : well done flashgame

I came across this blog where some great game developers share their thoughts. Some of them have released heli attack, a really nice tilemap based shooting game with a lot of player movements and lovely graphics. You learn all the controls and movements while playing the first level. Cool idea and completly good work !

Fall of 21xx : Nice Flashgame

I didn't play Megaman before, but this seems to be a nice adaption in flash. It based on the tilemap scrolling tutorial by strille and does the job very well. Anyway it is very hard to play, so you will need some time to reach the boss. There are also some notes about the game by the author
